  • new module for handling online scoring system ( try logical game PegSolitaire)
  • sprite system for TBGL (demo game AstroCrusher)
  • Oxygen, just-in-time BASIC compiler module brings object oriented programming and self compilation

• Jun 10 thinBASIC 1.6.0.9 is available for download. This release brings many important features like:
  • WITH / END WITH statement for more ellegant control over variables of user defined type
  • Command DOEVENTs placed in loops can reduce CPU usage to almost 0%
  • String handling enhanced with ROTATE$ function
  • Improvements in UI module
  • Added new TBGL command to retrieve model dimensions

• May 15 thinBASIC preview 1.6.0.8. brings important fixes in both thinBASIC core, TBGL and Tokenizer module. Besides fixes it brings new features in UI module, nice set of functions to retrieve FUNCTION and SUB names in script and also tweaks in thinAir IDE.See here

• Apr 06 New thinBASIC preview 1.6.0.4 comes with improvements in EXE, DT, TBEM, Core and TBGL modules.

• Mar 22 New thinBASIC preview 1.6.0.3 is out, containing the TBEM ( thinBASIC Event Manager )

• Mar 14 thinBASIC does machine code … even in structured form! New Oxygen module allows you to create machine code string with some higher level syntax constructions

• Mar 08 thinBASIC does machine code! Using MC_Eval and MC_Exec functions you can write machine code and use it directly in your scripts to get perfect performance

• Feb 25: Another thinBASIC preview was released, it brings new construction to define constants comfortably, fixes Vista problems and adds tweaked version of TBGL module. For more info, click here.

• Jan 09: New thinBASIC STABLE release is out, marked as v1.6. What does this version bring to a game programmer having last stable 1.5? There is a plenty of must haves - big amount of work on FUNCTION handling - want to return value from function and immediately exit, as seen in C language ? Use RETURN and go. Do you want to do 3D? STABLE release contains last, tweaked revision of TBGL module with even more internal optimizations. Users report great performance even on such a demanding OS as Windows Vista indeed is. Of course there is much much more, just download and try yourself ( help file contains list of all improvements as well as their documentation ).

• Dec 13: New thinBASIC preview release. It brings improved IDE features ( such as color highlighting of functions and UDTs ) as well as interesting extension of FOR/NEXT syntax. Download and try today! ;)

• Oct 26: Really hot news - thinBASIC 1.5.0.1 preview is ready to be downloaded. It contains speed improvements, few fixes, improved EXE module and new version of TBGL - module for games and 3D graphics. TBGL module now offers entity system to handle cameras, lights, models and more using unified functions.

• Oct 24: thinBASIC STABLE release is out. It features all what previews had, but it provides better stability and speed. Please stay tuned, next preview will have some relation to game making ;)

• Oct 03: Truly fantastic surprise for gaming community around thinBASIC. User Randall is working on A* ( aka A Star ) module, which serves to path finding. Sample script is available here. You can define walls, start and end point and rest is automatic. And you bet it is deadly fast !

• Oct 03: Yes, another preview release :) thinBASIC has now recovered the EXE creation functionality

• Sep 02: New version of TBDI, module for handling game controllers by Michael Hartlef, is released! As a bonus you can try new functionalities in thinBASIC game AirDogs 1942

• Aug 24: Font creator program for TBGL scripts updated, download here

• Aug 23: TBGL, thinBASIC module for handling 3D graphics, has been upgraded by tiny modifications today.
  • You can now specify transparent color when loading BMP texture. This can be of use when working with sprites and do not want to save image with alpha channel.
  • Anisotropic filtering is now supported too. In case it is not supported on hardware script runs on, it will be safely handled as mipmap ( trilinear )
  • Everybody interested download here, more patient ones can wait for next thinBASIC release.

• Aug 20: Released new thinBasic Core preview. thinBasic Core is the heart of thinBasic script language. From time to time thinBasic Dev Team release a new specific thinCore preview when significant changes occur. In this way thinBasic users can test them before a full build is released.
